Is God the only Lord and Saviour of your life?

David in Psalm 73:26-28 showed us why he is highly favoured by our God; that he is truly a man after God’s heart. David confidently and unreservedly declared that his heart’s desire and pursuit is only toward the Lord God. To Him, and Him only will David trust, rely and devote his life completely to.
David knows full well, the nature and will of God. That God richly rewards those who draw near to Him and utterly destroy those who betrayed and rebelled against Him, turning His grace to licentiousness.
Is our heart truly and singularly devoted to Him? Are there idols that has sadly taken over God’s rightful place in our hearts? While we may not bow down and worship man-made graven images and idols, we may inadvertently serve mammon. Indulging in life’s pleasurable pursuits, after fame, fortune, recognition and worldly successes. Neglecting the weightier matters that pertains to eternal life and glory of God.
As the psalmist implore us, let us not forget His benefits, the abundant and rich blessings that only God can give. Let us not have the mistaken notion that others can replace God. While what they offer and provided us may seem good; they are only good for this transient life only. Only God’s grace and blessing stretches over to eternal life.
Let us also not be foolish and ignorant. It is fearful and terrifying to be on the wrong side of God. Let us not think that God is making empty threats nor that He is overbearing and tyrannical in trying to control our lives. We should rather see the love behind the messages. Just like how as parents, we expose our children to shocking news and information, with the intent to warn and educate them, so that such pre-emptive measures ensure that our children do not enter into snares and dangers. In like manner, God forewarns us with terrifying and gruesome depictions of what lies ahead for those whose lot is in the lake of fire.
Do we hold the belief that He is the only Lord and God that we know, accept and obey. That He is the only Lord and Saviour of our life. Do we proof this believe through the life that we lead.
