The company I chose

By choosing to surround myself with church brethren even during the week – perhaps just to hang out, I am often reminded of how to live as a Christian in the world - whether in speech, behaviour, or thought. It has become more natural for me to reflect on what I have to thank God for, and whether I am glorifying Him in my life.

God's enduring mercy on my weaknesses

From the perspective of academics, I can only share as one who detested studying and struggled throughout all my years of schooling with a worsening attention span and a slower processing speed for Mathematics, which made up most of my University work.

When I was still in my unfaithful era, but needed urgent help understanding my coursework, a brother told me: “Wouldn’t you find great peace in having the God of all Wisdom on your side?”

Through trials

Often, I was stuck and unable to grasp many concepts but coupling the tears in grinding problem sets with that in prayer to God; while not neglecting Sabbath services and spiritual convocations, I had greater calm in knowing God will help get me through somehow.

Indeed, somehow, I graduated. For that, I truly thank God. It was hard.

“For the Lord God is a sun and shield; The Lord will give grace and glory; No good thing will He withhold from those who walk uprightly.” (Psalms 84:11)
